This impressive maiden piece by Navajo silversmith Alex Sanchez consists of both sterling silver and turquoise and features Alex’s signature petroglyph style patterns. The head of the maiden is made up entirely of a large, blue turquoise stone, set in a simple sterling silver bezel and containing portions of brown and golden matrix running throughout. Below the turquoise head is a large sterling silver body, appliqued with a sterling dot and horseshoe necklace, as well as various petroglyph style designs, including a corn stalk, several whirlwind patterns and flattened sterling dots, a hand, a fetish bear, one cross, and two dragonflies. Patterns stand out beautifully against an oxidized, textured backdrop. The cylindrical sterling tips of the piece have been left unadorned, and maiden piece and tips are set along a thick black cord. 5 3/4″ long x 2″ wide. Bolo measures 22 1/2″ from top to bottom.
