Description
Jemez potter Marie Toya created this traditional, adorable friendship bowl by hand, featuring four clay children, a turtle in the center inside, and hand painted designs. Corn stalks in red and black are painted along the outside of the bowl in between each child, while the children hang from the rim of the bowl. There are two boys and two girls around the rim of the bowl, each painted in variations of black, red, and turquoise, looking in on the turtle inside the bottom of the bowl, whose shell is painted in black and red in traditional weather patterns. 5 1/4″ tall x 4 1/2″ wide.
