Description
Two children, both boys, sit on the lap of a seated woman in this lovely handmade and hand painted storyteller figurine by Jemez potter Joyce Lucero. The woman rests with her legs slightly bent and outstretched, one crossed over the other, while one hand wraps around each of the children in her lap. One boy holds a football and the other lifts both hands to his face, while the woman’s head is tilted slightly upward, her mouth open. Her hair is twisted low to one side, and each boy smiles slightly. Each figurine is painted in combinations of brown and black, while the woman also features turquoise accents and white, tall moccasins, with the back of the shawl draped over her shoulders is painted in white, black and red. 3 1/2″ tall x 2 1/4″ wide x 4″ wide.
