Description
Seated with her legs outstretched and a shawl over her head, a small woman rests with five children in her lap in this traditional storyteller figurine by Jemez potter Angi Loretto Riley. The woman’s clothing is predominantly white, the shawl over her head painted red with black and turquoise accents. Three children stand in her lap, while one sits and another rests on their stomach, each of the children painted in variations of red, white, black and turquoise. Four of the children hold their hands to their mouths, while one of the children and the woman are depicted with open mouths. 4″ tall x 2″ wide x 3 1/8″ long.
