Description
Carved by Navajo artist Victor Abeita, this small kachina doll depicts a lizard. The lizard stands on one foot with the other lifted toward the back, while its neck and top of the head feature grey fur. White and brown feathers top its head, while it holds a single white feather in one hand and a rattle finished with grey leather strips in the other. Brown felt covers the lizard’s bottom half, painted in black, white and red designs. The lizard is said to be a fighting kachina, who is also known to bring sweethearts together. 7 1/4″ tall x 5″ wide x 3 1/2″ deep.
