Painted vibrantly along the face and body with many colors and accented with feathers and leather, this fun Navajo kachina doll depicts an Early Morning Singer.  The kachina’s face is painted predominantly turquoise, its eyes black, nose red, and cheeks painted in red, yellow and white with cloud and rain patterns.  The Kachina’s ears are red, its head topped with white fur and backed with brown feathers.  The kachina holds a feather in one hand while additional white fur surrounds its neck, a white leather strap slung across its shoulder.  The kachina’s waist is surrounded by brown leather followed by white leather painted in geometric designs in turquoise, red, and black, and its body features an almost tie-dye look in a washed out red, white, yellow, and turquoise.  The Morning Singer kachina is said to appear on roof tops, singing songs to wake the people of the villages.  10″ tall x 4″ wide x 3″ deep.
