Description

Laguna potter Robert Kasero, one of only a handful of potters out of the Pueblo, created this stunning black and white seed pot entirely by hand, from shaping the piece to painting it.  The seed pot takes on a lovely, symmetrical shape, its small opening painted in an entirely black ring, followed by a thinner band of white.  From there, an impossibly accurate and very impressive reoccurring eyedazzler pattern takes shape, comprising alternating, curved bands in black and white featuring reoccurring geometric patterns.  These bands flow from the top to the bottom of the piece, the curvature creating movement along its surface.  4 1/2″ tall x 6 1/4″ wide.
