Description
Handmade by well-known, prolific Santo Domingo potter Robert Tenorio, this beautiful, traditional jar features a buff backdrop hand painted with alternating, differing bird and flower designs. The rim of the piece is painted solid black, below which a black sky band is painted, while the aforementioned birds and flowers cover nearly the entirety of the body of the jar. Each bird and flower is painted in red and black but otherwise differs, while the base of the jar is painted solid red. Robert is considered one of the foremost Santo Domingo potters working today and is credited as having an important role of reviving the art within the Pueblo. 7 1/2″ tall x 8″ wide.
