Description

Handmade by prolific Jemez potter Glendora Fragua, this stunning vase features an etched harvest design along its surface featuring multiple components, the design elements painted by hand in various commercial paint colors, including black, gold, and metallic greens and reds.  The scalloped rim of the piece is painted metallic gold, giving way to the piece’s black body which is etched with a single kachina at the center on each side, one featuring water designs and the other, corn patterns.  Each kachina is surrounded by various floral and leaf patterns painted in the aforementioned colors, their edges deeply grooved within the vase’s black body, showcasing the buff color underneath.  6″ tall x 4″ wide.
