Description

Showcasing a unique grey backdrop and a “basket bottom,” which comprises clay ridges along its lower quarter, this impressive and unusual jar was handmade by Santo Domingo potter Ambrose Atencio.  The piece’s rim is entirely grey, below which a black sky band is painted.  Below that, large birds painted in black and orange alternate with floral patterns painted entirely in black, while the piece’s basket bottom is painted with reoccurring, mirrored black step patterns separated by a thick orange band.  8 3/4″ tall x 9″ wide.
