Navajo silversmith Bennie Ration, known for his intricate sterling silverwork, combines it with a single orange spiny oyster shell piece in this impressive maiden pendant. The stone creates a majority of the body, set in a simple sterling silver bezel and surrounded at the base by a sterling silver rope pattern. This, in turn, is surrounded by a scallop edged sterling panel, stamped with scallop patterns and featuring a single row of five applique sterling dots along each side of the top of the body. Protruding from the top of the body is a sterling silver maiden’s head stamped with deeply grooved rectangular eyes and showcasing a round, applique mouth, The head is finished with sterling horns on each side as well as a feather set at the top. 2 3/8″ long x 7/8″ wide. Hook bail is located at the top of the back of the piece.
