Description

Seated and wrapped completely in a shawl from head to toe, this unique storyteller figurine was created by Caroline Sando of Jemez Pueblo. The woman rests with her legs outstretched, a piece of pottery resting atop them and six children seated along the woman’s body in two rows of three.  The woman’s eyes are large and expressive and her mouth is open, as are those of the children resting on her chest and lap.  The woman is finished with a piece of turquoise along her neckline, while her shawl is painted red and black and the piece of pottery along her legs in the same colors, which stand out beautifully against a buff backdrop. 6 5/8″ tall x 3″ wide x 5″ deep.
