Description
A gorgeous floral pattern incorporating weather designs is painted along the front of the body of this traditional handmade pitcher by Jemez potter Martilla Madalena. The rim of the pitcher is painted solid red, giving way to a buff body painted in various patterns in red and black. These patterns include fine lines, representing rain, a black sun, reoccurring triangles and half moons that form clouds, and avanyu serpents painted vertically along each side. The pitcher is finished with a twisted handle. 8 1/4″ tall x 5″ wide x 6 3/4″ deep.
