Carved entirely from abalone by Zuni artist Abby Quam, this lovely stone fetish depicts an eagle. The piece showcases an elongated figure, its tail extending far behind it and the beak out in front. One side of the piece showcases a gorgeous, shiny grey color, while the opposite side showcases the inside of abalone in pinkish white colorations. The bird is finished with one inlaid turquoise eye on each side. In many Native American cultures, eagles symbolize the divine spirit, creation and freedom. 4″ long x 1/4″ wide x 1 1/4″ tall.
