Beautifully composed of black and white marble, this gorgeous coyote fetish by Zuni carver Kenric Laiwakete features a turquoise heart line and eyes accented with turquoise as well. The coyote is carved on a profile, its head extending upward, as if howling. In many Native American cultures, coyotes are thought of as cunning tricksters, and represent the ability to laugh at one’s own mistakes, as well as humor and foolishness. Additionally, coyotes are respected for their knowledge and survival skills, and, in Zuni culture, are the hunter gods of the West. 1 5/8″ long x 3/8 wide x 2 1/8″ tall.
