Zuni carver Freddie Leekya created this impressive buffalo fetish entirely from Picasso marble, which features small touches of jet. The piece varies tan to grey in color, while the front of the buffalo also features light etching to create the illusion of fur. The buffalo is finished with jet hooves and turquoise inlaid eyes, as well as two horns carved from shell. In many Native American cultures, the buffalo symbolizes the sacred, life, great strength, abundance and gratitude. 3 1/2″ long x 1 1/4″ wide x 2 1/4″ high.
