Known for his intricately and expertly carved corn maiden pieces, Isleta carver Andy Abeita created this impressive piece in the same form and style, from Root Beer Alabaster. The stone varies muted reddish-brown to light pink to white, with beautiful etching along the tableta, head, face, and body. The maiden’s neck is strung with a beautiful multi-stone necklace, with stones including turquoise, coral, and white mother of pearl. Corn Maidens are considered symbols of sustenance and the power of life, highly revered by many Native American cultures. 5 1/2″ tall x 1 1/2″ wide x 1 3/8″ deep.
