Description
Santo Domingo potter Robert Tenorio, considered one of the main players in reviving and bringing attention to the legacy of Kewa pottery, created this beautiful piece in the traditional style. The bowl is entirely handmade and hand painted, featuring fish painted vertically along the majority of the surface. Each of the fish is painted with different designs, all in black and orange, while the rim of the piece features a sun pattern and the base, a solid orange color. Robert, per usual, finishes the piece with an egg white wash, and left an etched hand on the bottom of the inside of the bowl, signifying that the piece is handmade. The bowl is also signed by Robert on the base. 5 3/4″ tall x 6″ wide.
