Description
Two traditional corn maidens are carved into a beautiful white and brown sea snail shell in this impressive fetish by Zuni carver Stuart Quandelacy. The back of the piece retains the swirled whirlwind of a snail shell, while the remainder of the piece, which varies brown to white, features two corn maidens accented in turquoise, jet, coral, and golden mother of pearl, as well as carved geometric designs. The corn maiden is a deeply revered symbol in many Native American cultures, representing an important crop and sustenance for the people. 3″ tall x 2 1/2″ wide x 2″ deep.
