In Zuni culture, the owl is considered the protector of the home, seeing what others cannot. It is also said to represent wisdom and truth. This iteration, by potter Danelle Westika, showcases he traditional Zuni red clay painted in black, with hints of yellow to create the owl’s expressive eyes. The piece features an oval body and outstretched wings, while feathers and other details are painted in black. 4 1/8″ tall x 4 1/2″ wide x 3 1/2″ deep.
