Description

Looking as if he’s ready for battle, this impressive Buffalo Warrior Kachina doll was carved by Navajo artist Victor Abeita.  The piece depicts a kachina with an intensely painted face in black, red, and white, its arms outstretched, the piece holding a bow in one hand and shield painted with a skull and feathers in the other.  The buffalo warrior’s head is surrounded by fur, while its arms, a good portion of its body, and its ankles and feet are covered in brown fabric.  The fabric upon its waist is painted in turquoise, brown, red, and yellow in geometric patterns, and a single turquoise piece is set at the waist.  The buffalo is said to be the most powerful amongst Kachinas, can kill any evil thoughts, and is a great spiritual protector.  12 1/2″ tall x 7″ wide x 3 1/2″ deep.
