Carved entirely from cedar by hand, this Navajo piece by Robert Platero depicts a deer Kachina. The deer’s arms are outstretched, a walking stick extending from ground to hand, while its head showcases an intricate set of carved cedar feathers in a cluster at the back. The deer features black accents along the clothing surrounding its waist, as well as a squash blossom necklace around its neck, in addition to accents along the face and head. It is finished with an upside down cedar cactus attached to the back of the waist. 8 1/2″ tall x 5″ wide x 3 3/4″ deep.
