Description
Jemez potter Juanita Fragua, now over 80 years of age, is still creating pottery in the traditional style, hand coiling and painting by hand. This particular piece takes the shape of a squat bowl, painted from rim to wide inflection with traditional feather designs in red, beige and black. These feather designs also include step and whirlwind patterns. The remainder of the piece is left unpainted, the bottom half of the bowl red and beautifully polished. 6 1/8″ wide x 2 1/2″ high.
