Description
Referred to as a “Madonna” vase because the shape it takes is reminiscent of a veil shrouding the recognizable religious figure, this beautiful, delicate piece was handmade by Jemez potter Geraldine Sandia. Taking on a rounded tear drop shape, the vase features an oval opening at the top of the front, painted entirely black and giving way to a body painted in swirling patterns in buff, black and red. Patterns include foliage, feathers and various geometric shapes representing elements of weather. 4 1/8″ tall x 2 3/4″ wide.
