Description
Beautifully hand crafted and painted, this traditional storyteller was created by Jemez potter Diane Lucero. A woman stands tall, her face tilted slightly upward, mouth open, and cheeks rosy, with two children at her feet and two in each arm, for a total of six. Several of the children hold an object in their hands, including a soccer ball, drum, basket, and basketball, while all children and the woman showcase turquoise painted rings, along with a turquoise painted necklace around the woman’s neck. A red bordered shawl is draped over the woman’s head, the back painted in red and black in traditional geometric and step designs. 9 1/4″ tall x 2 7/8″ wide x 3 3/4″ deep.
