Creative touches of whimsy, something of a staple of Jemez potter Chrislyn Fragua’s work, add fun detail to this adorable piece, which features a turtle figurine and two children atop its shell. The turtle is painted red, blue, and white atop a buff backdrop, a flower atop its head and its black eyes expressive. The children rest on their stomachs atop the turtle’s shell, mouths open and faces looking forward, a book open, titled “Pueblo of Jemez,” in front of them. The turtle is finished with three adorable lady bugs, also atop the shell. 3 5/8″ tall x 4″ wide x 5″ deep.
