Description

Beautifully carved by hand by Hopi artist Irvin Jojola, this traditional, small kachina doll depicts a Long hair and includes a wonderfully detailed pueblo scene surrounded by the swirls of hair flowing downward. The face of the kachina is painted turquoise with rectangular black eyes, delicate feathers atop and behind the head and long, swirling hair flowing downward from the face and back of the head.  The hair nearly surrounds a detailed, two-tiered Pueblo scene showcasing multiple stories and windows, as well as a set of steps.  The Long hair is a bringer of rain and flowers whose songs and dances are beautiful and a favorite of the Hopi. Its long, flowing hair represents the rain falling.  8 1/4″ tall x 2″ wide x 2 1/4″ deep.
