Description
Carved by hand by Hopi artist Arthur Oso, Sr. in 1989, this impressive and fun kachina doll depicts a Warrior Mouse. The mouse stands atop an unpainted cottonwood root base, which features several details, including a watermelon, a ladder that appears to descend downward into the base (and is removable), and a flying bird. The mouse stands on both feet, one arm stretched outward and the other sideways. The arm toward the mouse’s side holds a bow while the other hand holds a mallet, while a sheath of arrows is slung around one shoulder. The mouse’s tongue protrudes outward and downward from the mouth, feather details atop its head and ears extended. 10 3/4″ tall x 5″ wide x 5 1/2″ deep.
