Description

Handmade by late Acoma potter Loretta Joe, this large, impressive jar features hand painted patterns that include several different animals along with traditional feather and weather designs.  The piece, painted in black and red atop a white backdrop, showcases various rounded panels in which animals are painted, including a bear, rabbit, scorpion, turtle, mountain lion, and what appears to be an ostrich.  Additional patterns painted along the surface of the jar include feathers, clouds and rain.  10″ tall x 9 1/2″ wide.
