A white backdrop creates the perfect base for Acoma potter Beverly Garcia’s hand painted designs in this beautiful handmade bowl with handles. One twisted handle is attached to each side, while the piece is painted with two traditional parrot designs in black and orange, along with flower patterns in the same colors. Fine lines are also incorporated into each parrot design, representing rain. The Pueblo people of New Mexico often use the parrot symbol to signify their reverence for water, as legend holds that parrots, introduced to the people by Spanish settlers, led them to water. 5 1/4″ tall x 8 1/2″ wide.
