Description
Handmade by Jemez potter Linda Lucero Fragua, this traditional storyteller figurine showcases a seated woman and three children. Two of he children, both girls, rest on her lap, while the third child, a boy, hangs over one shoulder. The woman sits with her legs outstretched, a blanket draped over them, upon which lay two pieces of corn. Each of the girls rests just above the corn, one holding a blanket and the other a basket. A shawl is draped over the woman’s shoulders, covering the boy and most of her body, painted in traditional designs in red, brown, cream and grey. Each of the figures’ mouths are open and their eyes expressive, while the woman’s cheeks are rosy and her hair pulled up into a bun on each side of her head. 5 7/8″ tall x 3″ wide x 5″ deep.
