Description
Handmade by Jemez potter Carol Lucero Gachupin, this adorable friendship bowl features a unique step rim and six figurines; three men and three women. The bowl is painted on both the outside and inside with traditional patterns including weather designs, flowers, and steps, with the borders of the rim painted red, giving way to a more pink color on the inside and white on the outside. All three of the female figurines and one of the males sits with legs outstretched, the man holding a drum, and each of the women holding a basket, dog and blanket, respectively. Two of the men are attached to the rim and outside of the bowl just behind two of the seated females, both with blankets slung over their shoulders. Small pottery, butterfly, bird and lady bug accents are attached to the inside of the bowl, and each of the figures is painted with expressive eyes and smiles. 3 1/4″ tall x 8″ wide.
