Featuring feather, leather and fur accents, this fun Navajo kachina doll depicts a bear. The piece ia painted in brown, white, black, and red, the bear’s forearms and legs painted black with white polka dots, while its upper arms and torso are brown and white. The head and face are white, with black and red eyes and black paw prints on each cheek, its neck surrounded by white fur. The bear’s ears are red, and top of its head set with white fur and brown feathers, while it holds another feather in one hand. The piece is finished with leather slung over one shoulder as well as white leather surrounding the waist, painted in geometric patterns in red, turquoise, and black. The bear kachina is said to represent great power to cure the sick. 8 1/8″ tall x 2 1/2″ wide x 3″ deep.
