Description

Painted in black and white with an expressive face and fun details, this Navajo kachina by carver Arvin Morris represents the traditional koshare, or clown.  The koshare is painted with a wide, smiling mouth and large eyes which look up toward the feathers atop its head. Tan leather accents also adorn the horns atop the head, while whie leather is featured along its knees and wrists, as well as hanging from red leather around the koshare’s arms.  A white leather piece surrounds the koshare’s waist, topped with a red belt and painted in black, turquoise, and red, while brown leather adorns the ankles, falling over turquoise shoes.  11 3/4″ tall x 5″ wide x 4 3/8″ deep.
