Description
Following in his father, Bennie’s, footsteps, Navajo silversmith Dakota Ration created this impressive cuff bracelet by hand, showcasing the family’s signature sterling silver maiden. The maiden’s body comprises a single tear drop shaped turquoise stone set in a simple sterling silver bezel, while a sterling silver maiden’s head protrudes from its tip. The stone is surrounded at the base by a sterling silver rope pattern, followed by a sterling band stamped and cut out to form a reoccurring pattern, and finished with a roe of applique sterling dots atop notched sterling silver on each side of the upper portion. The maiden’s head showcases deeply grooved eyes and a round, applique mouth, while its forehead is stamped with vertical and horizontal lines and the head finished with a sterling silver tableta on each side and a delicate sterling silver feather at the top. Stone and silverwork rest atop a split sterling silver shank that merges about halfway toward each end, each merge point finished with an applique sterling silver floral pattern. 1 3/4″ wide with an inner end to end measurement of 5 3/4″ and a 1 1/8″ opening. Cuff is somewhat adjustable.
