Description
Featuring both impressive sterling silver overlay and geometric lapis and sterling silver inlay, this incredible vintage belt buckle showcases elements of both Hopi and Zuni design. The triangular overlay portion of the buckle features two corn stalks with ears of corn and a kokopelli in the top corner, the patterns standing out beautifully against an oxidized, textured sterling silver backdrop. The remainder of the buckle is inlaid with lapis pieces varying light to dark blue, each separated by slivers of sterling silver. Edges of the inlay work are polished silver, but otherwise left unadorned. We believe this piece may have been a collaboration between a Hopi and a Zuni artist, but cannot confirm. 3″ long x 2″ wide. Fits belt size 1 5/8″.
