Zuni potter Deldrick Cellicion, known for pottery featuring three dimensional effects, created this beautiful jar in a slightly different style. The piece, while showcasing Deldrick’s mastery of hand making and painting pottery, does not feature any three dimensional aspects. Rather, this piece showases a lovely scalloped rim, red on the inside and painted with a defining black band, which flows into a large jar varying white to beige to red in color, the while melding into the beige to created a spotted effect. The piece is painted with several iterations of deer and other animals including birds and dragonflies, as well as with weather designs such as whirlwinds and rain/cloud patterns.9 1/4″ tall x 9 1/2″ wide.
