Description
Created and painted by hand by Jemez potter Marie Toya, this traditional storyteller figurine showcases one seated woman and one child. The woman sits with the child on her lap holding a clay basket painted with traditional designs in black and red. She is depicted with a bun on each side of her head and a turquoise painted necklace, with one arm resting in her lap and one around her child. Along her back, a beautiful shawl painted with a corn stalk in red and black rests. 4 1/2″ tall x 3 1/4″ wide x 4″ deep.
