Two lovely corn maidens, one adult and one child, comprise this stunning, handmade figurine by Jemez potter Carol Lucero Gachupin. The smaller corn maiden rests within the bottom of the husk of the larger maiden, each featuring red corn kernels along the front of their bodies covered by buff husks painted in black patterns including geometric designs and feathers. Each corn maiden also features a turquoise painted necklace and step pattern tableta painted in yellow, red and turquoise, their mouths open and cheeks rosy. 9 3/8″ tall x 2 1/2″ wide x 2 5/8″ deep.
