A truly impressive piece by well-known San Ildefonso Erik Fender (Than Tsideh), this gorgeous plate showcases impeccable craftsmanship in various modalities. The top portion of the plate features buff, micaceous clay painted in red and black patterns including the central mountain lion, its tail extending upward and curving along the border of the plate, along with eagle feathers below, kiva step designs, and weather patterns. The border of the plate is painted in alternating black, red, and white rectangles, while the bottom features a fine, mirror-like polish in red along with a truly stunning avanyu. 10 1/8″ diameter.
