Created by Jemez potter Bonnie Fragua, this lovely, handmade figurine depicts a traditional corn maiden and features cut outs and hand painted designs. The maiden’s face is painted with rosy cheeks and expressive eyes, her mouth open, while corn kernels dot her body and stalks wind their way upward, almost swirling around her. The maiden’s body also features a step pattern cut out and tear drop shaped cut out, in addition to a painted pueblo scene. Accents along her body and the stalks rising around her are painted in red, grey and white. 7 1/4″ tall x 2 3/4″ wide.
