Description
Two traditional parrots, believed to have led Pueblo people to water after having been brought to North America by the Spanish, as well as a series of dragonflies comprise the main patterns along this stunning cylinder by Hopi artist Gwen Setalla. Each parrot stands on a branch painted with both leaves and flowers, while dragonflies appear to be flying both above and beneath them, weightless in air. The unique gold-red hued base of the piece, along with its shape, make it all the more intriguing. 6 3/4″ tall x 4 3/8″ wide.
