Description

Featuring micaceous clay, this entirely  handmade bowl by Hopi potter Stetson Setalla is painted on the inside with a large turtle and various weather patterns.  The turtle takes center stage at the bottom of the inside of the piece, painted i black and red. Surrounding it, cloud, rain and whirlwind patterns are also painted in black and red, reoccurring in circles around the turtle.  The outside of the bowl showcases only the micaceous clay, there are no painted designs.  In many Native American cultures, turtles represent good health and long life.  2 1/2″ tall x 10 7/8″ wide.
