Navajo potter Kenneth White, who began his career as a silversmith, employs various silversmithing techniques such as stamping in the creation of his pottery, which he often makes with his wife, Irene. This wedding vase, created solely by Kenneth, showcases recognizable Navajo Yei and Yeibichai figurines on one side, and a fetish bear on the other, colorfully painted in red, turquoise, black, buff, and brown. Each of these central patterns are surrounded by various traditional designs including step patterns, geometric designs, and hearts created with step patterns, which rest below the bear. The thick, twisted handle of the piece completes it beautifully, and the piece showcases a gorgeous, high shine pine pitch finish. 8 1/2″ tall x 5 1/2″ wide.
