Created in the traditional style and entirely hand made, this gorgeous Jemez wedding vase was created by potter Juanita Fragua, now over 80 years of age. The piece features a beautiful, buff polished base, which is painted by hand with several designs in yellow, grey, red, and black, including geometric patterns such a s triangles, corn stalks, feather patterns, and arrows. Fine lines alongside geometric patterns often represent rain and clouds, while feather patterns and corn are designs often seen on Native American pottery and other art. The twisted handle of the piece, painted in triangle and arrow patterns in red and black, along with the vase’s step rim openings, finish it beautifully. 9″ tall x 4 7/8″ wide.
