Created in her traditional style, this beautiful storyteller figurine by Jemez potter Joyce Lucero showcases a seated woman and two children on her lap. The children, both boys, resting comfortably atop and over her legs, smile, with one of the children’s hands held up to his mouth, and the other clinging to a piece of pottery. The woman’s mouth is open, her cheeks rosy, with a shawl draped over her head painted in red and pink with traditional black designs along the back. The woman is finished with turquoise painted accents along her neck, wrists, fingers, and skirt, and she is seated as such that her legs bend and face the same way. 4″ tall x 3″ wide x 3 1/4″ deep.
