Jemez potter Chrislyn Fragua, known for her beautifully detailed storyteller figurines, created this piece in the same style, showcasing a seated woman with three children. The woman, seated upon a brick wall, holds a book in her hands entitled “Pueblo of Jemez,” while a baby rests in one of her arms, and two additional children rest upon her lap. The baby is swaddled in a red and black blanket, while one child lays on his stomach and the other holds a drum in his hands. The woman and all three children are painted with expressive eyes and have open mouths, while the woman’s hair is twisted to one side, a flower painted atop her head. 5 3/4″ tall x 2 1/4″ wide x 2 3/4″ deep.
