Jemez potter Caroline Sando created this lovely storyteller woman with six children in the traditional, handmade style. The piece features a large, seated woman, with six children in her lap and a piece of pottery set atop her legs. Her face is expressive, with rosy cheeks and an open mouth, while the children in her lap sit in two rows of three. A single turquoise piece is set along her neck, blue-green in color and containing portions of light brown matrix, while the piece of pottery atop her legs is painted in beige, black and red. 5 1/2″ tall x 3″ wide x 4″ wide.
