Delicate yet intricate, this beautiful storyteller by Jemez potter Carol Lucero Gachupin showcases a seated woman with two children, each of which is holding a small item. The woman, whose clothing is painted in black, turquoise, and red, also showcases a clay turquoise necklace and blanket covering her head, shoulders, and back. It is painted with traditional designs in black, white and red, while her moccasins are painted white and black. One child, nestled within the blanket at the woman’s shoulder, holds a doll, while the other, seated in her lap, holds what could be either a plate or a basket. 3″ tall x 1 3/4″ wide x 2 1/2″ deep.
