This beautiful Navajo vase was hand coiled by well-known and highly sought after artist Alice Cling. Though the art of Navajo pottery nearly died out in the 1940’s, talented artist like Alice and her mentors revived the craft and combined traditional potting methods with elegant contemporary form to create a whole new era of stunning works of art. This vase has a lovely shape and is beautifully lined with a single green slip ribbon at the rim. The ribbon stands out beautifully against the natural brown tone of the clay that is embellished with fire cloud markings from outdoor firing. The piece is signed by Alice, etched in the base. 7 1/2” tall x 5 1/2” wide.
